Bylaw 600 – Sooke’s very own omnibus bill

Posted by Britt

Well, OK, it's not really an omnibus bill. That was just done for dramatic effect. But this is the sweeping bylaw that impacts the local zoning, which in turn affects all home, land and business owners. I wonder how many of us actually know how much (or little) it impacts us.

Sooke's bylaw 600 - what do we really know?

300 Lice Experts

Posted by Britt

Lice procedures in Sooke are a'changin. Yep. Instead of a trained person looking for lice on location at each school, we're going to rely on un-trained parents to keep the parasites at bay. Welcome home little critters. My head (and every one else's) is your new home.

I got itchy doing this cartoon.

Where's scratchy?

Sooke Fall Fair

Posted by Britt

Yep. We have a fair in Sooke. Nope, there are no rides. BUT there is a pet parade. Who can ask for more?

That, and because OVT exists in a two-dimensional world, this is really her only shot of being asked anything in a man-on... errrr... person-on-the-street interview.

We asked about the fall fair

Earthquake analysis: Sooke

Posted by Britt

The earth moved. Really. It did. PTSD might be on the rise.

(Actually a mash-up between the earthquake in Sooke and Christy Clark's plastic-grin mantra as her party crumbles.)

The question is, will a car wash in downtown Sooke help with beautification?

Posted by Britt

Methinks not. Although I do like the idea of a car wash and laundry mat in Sooke. But downtown?

Starved for attention

Being insatiably human, Olga finds yet another way to pursue stardom. You see, our local recreation centre, Seaparc, has a Star of the Week feature in the Sooke News Mirror. OVT thought that perhaps she too could strike a pose.

FYI

Here is what a REAL Seaparc Star of the Week might look like:

Um, this is not some random kid; she's MY kid! My beautiful glorious handful of a kid.
